Example project: a hardware startup going from idea to first prototype

How a startup with a concept and a sketch, but no design files, gets to a working prototype.

This is an example project. It shows how BestSky Industrial handles this type of product; it is not the story of a specific customer.

The product

A small connected device. The founders have a written concept, a few sketches, and a reference product they like. There is no schematic yet.

Where it starts

This is the I have an idea path. The form asks for no design files: only a description, whatever sketches or photos exist, and any questions for the engineer.

What we do

  • An engineer reviews the idea and talks it through with the founders
  • We advise on what is feasible and propose a plan: electronics, PCB, enclosure, and embedded software
  • We design the schematic and PCB layout, and the enclosure around them
  • We build the first prototypes in Silicon Valley, with no minimum order quantity
  • We review the results together and plan the next revision

Protecting the idea

The founders sign our mutual NDA inside the quote form before uploading anything, so the conversation starts under confidentiality.

What to send us for a project like this

  • A description of what the product should do
  • Sketches, photos, or a reference product
  • Your target timeline and how many prototypes you need
